The interesting Biopic of the Nobel laureate Maria Skłodowska-Curie or Marie Curie was initially released in September 2019 where the film was released in the Toronto International Film Festival. Amazon studio acquired the film in February 2018, and the trailer of the movie was released in February 2020.
The theatre release of the movie was scheduled on 20th March 2020 in the UK and 24th April 2020 in the US, but unfortunately because of the pandemic of coronavirus the release date of the movie is pushed ahead until further notice. People waiting for the release of the film have to wait until the official announcement from the production house.
The Plot of the movie
The movie is directed by Oscar-nominated director Marjane Satrapi, and the storyline of the movie is built on the graphic novel created by Lauren Redniss. The movie revolves around Marie Curie the Polish-French chemist and physicist. The movie shows the different periods of her life right from 1870 onwards, it showcases the various milestones in her life be it her relationships or professional ones.
Through the trailer, one can gauge that the movie is more concentrated on how she had to take extra effort to make her voice heard in the male-dominated society. The movies highlight the various relationship she had, which also include the controversial relationship with her late husband’s former student.
The cast of the movie is impressive
The Radioactive movie stars Oscar-nominated actress Rosamund Pike. She became a known name through her brilliant performance in Gone Girl. Sam Riley, who is known for his characters in movies like Control and Maleficent, is playing her husband, Pierre Curie.
Pierre Curie was also a French Physicist with whom Marie Curie shared her Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903. The other cast members include Anya Taylor-Joy who plays Irene Curie as Marie Curie and Pierre Curie’s daughter. Simon Russell Beale will be seen as the physicist and inventor who is also a fellow Nobel Laureate in Physics.
He was given the Nobel Prize for his method of reproducing colors photographically. While Aneurin Barnard of Dunkirk fame is playing Paul Langevin with whom Marie Curie had a much talked about relationship after the death of her husband.
