The funniest adult cartoon I have ever seen. This show is unique because it’s not just poy-shot jokes and one liners –there actually is a story and a pretty relatable and intriguing one at that.
Bean is a rebellious teen caught in a tangle of mystery, but she’s also a leading lady with sass and some major cojones! The sarcasm and innuendos within the dialogue is absolutely Hilarious. The minor characters are also unforgettable because of their perfect lines. The character voices are also spot on compared with their appearance.
COMPARISON WITH THE SIMPSONS
DISENCHANMENT is carefree and honest and at the same time a very enjoyable show. It’s is, however, not right to compare it to the SIMPSON or FUTURAMA because it is its own show, a strong series that shows all the good and evil of humanity, making you realize the beauty of life through the amazing stories and animations.
It brings out the” soft side” of you, like the side without all hardships of life, if that makes sense. The stories are interesting and it will start to grow onto you after episodes 5(till episodes 5, the plot is quite slow to create a build-up) the stories from season 2 are small perfect little stories that create a great series.
Also, It’s the story building that is the main focus here, not really comedy such as the SIMPSONS or FUTURAMA so not much comedy. There are a lot of hidden jokes that some people are just too, not realizing it’s a joke and then complains.
OTHER ELEMENTS FOR APPLAUSE
It’s a good series with really cool music. The shows have a solid and consistent storyline. You can expect one-off antics and silly adventures, albeit with a loosely structured overarching story. The show is a fantasy-based, entertaining, and sarcastically-funny show which requires some focus. The series is somewhat a meta. On the first look, it seems like it is just about a princess and her marriage, etc. It has many layers and we can actually connect to it. The elf represents how in our times, people get sick of being all the time and can get depressed even though they have everything that is conventionally “happy”.
The story is kinda flat at the beginning but near the end of the first season, it starts getting good. The watercolor environmental designs absolutely gorgeous, feels like a storybook! The characters are humorous, jokes hit and miss but it is a decent show. The creator of the SIMPSONS did a fantastic job at this show.
